NEW MEMBER MINISTRY AD-HOC COMMITTEE FORMING
When I first began attending St. Peter's in the autumn of 2006 I thought to myself, "What a warm, lovely community. I just wish that I could break into it." With that desire in mind, to help new comers feel welcome from the get-go in the St. Peter's community, a New Member Ministry committee is forming. The committee's goal will be to devise a specific plan for how to welcome new comers. The more of St. Peter's community that we can have participating in the committee, the more ideas we will have for welcoming different populations, so I do hope that you'll consider participating.
As a first step, all are invited to participate in the Magnetic Church Conference, sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of CT at Christ Episcopal Church in Ansonia. Lay evangelist, humorist, and author of WELCOME! Tools and Techniques for New Member Ministry, Andy Weeks will lead a Friday evening & Saturday conference on new member and welcoming ministries. Even if you.re not sure whether or not you.d like to participate in the committee, you.re most welcome to come to the conference and explore whether this might be a great ministry to engage in over the next few months.
May 11 (6:30-10PM); May 12 (8:30AM . 4:30PM)
Christ Episcopal, Ansonia. No Cost
